The Australian Migrant Resource Centre invites young people to participate in the SA Refugee Week Youth Poster Awards 2026 Exhibition, which celebrates the courage, resilience, strength and contributions of people of refugee backgrounds.
SA Refugee Week Schools Poster Project is coordinated by the Australian Migrant Resource Centre. Since 2011, it has been a major event of SA Refugee Week celebrations.
Young people from primary, secondary and tertiary institutions were invited to create handmade posters that reflect themes from the United Nations International Refugee Convention, including multiculturalism, human rights, cultural diversity, anti-racism, welcoming refugees into Australia and recognising their contributions.
The exhibition supports creativity, awareness and empathy, encouraging young people to explore refugee experiences through art.
The 2026 Refugee Week theme is ‘A Million Stories’, reflecting on the milestone of one million refugees welcomed by Australia since World War II.
