Exhibition and silent auction of works by Pamela Kouwenhoven (1944-2014), an important SA regional-based artist whose life was dedicated to her experimental art practice, which explored a deep experience of her environment: the natural landscapes of South Australia and the impact of our relationships with them.
Born in Moonta South Australia, and raised on the West Coast of South Australia in an arid farming community, Kouwenhoven forged an innovative and evocative multi-media art practice over a number of decades.
Kouwenhoven’s distinct styles were often controversial, yet award winning. She has pieces in both the Art Gallery of South Australian, Adelaide, as well as the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra.
This will be a special opportunity to acquire major and modest artworks from Pamela’s estate. They will include seminal works that have been widely celebrated, and others that have rarely been seen before.
